Youth Justice

Youth Justice Program Assistant 
Compensation is $18/hr for 10hrs/week.
Job Description:
The successful candidates will assist the Youth Justice Program Managers develop and deliver the Youth Justice Program.  The program includes two parts: Youth Justice Committees for Youth who have come into contact with the Law and 
an 8 weeks life skills certificate program. The 8-week program is designed specifically for racialized youth and will focus on developing life skills and integrating youth with the community.
You will be required to receive Youth Justice committee training and also must be able to commit to attending all sessions during the 8-week life skills course.   Applicants must also exhibit a strong positive attitude, a strong willingness to learn, as well as an exceptional work ethic.
Availability needed Monday-Saturday.   

Some positions will begin as a remote placement, working from home so each applicant must have access to the internet and a computer.
Skills and Experience:
  • Experience working with Youth ages 12-18.
  • Interest in community work
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System in Canada
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong computer and Internet literacy skills: Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Zoom Conferencing, etc
  • Strong written and verbal communication skill
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, work independently, use initiative, and effectively handle disruptions
  • Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with others in a team environment
  • Possesses the physical ability to perform moderately heavy lifting
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle would be an asset​
