New Horizons for Seniors Program

Welcome to our New Horizons for Seniors Program

Funded by the Government of Canada under Employment and Social Development Canada, we provide support for Black seniors citizens in Essex County.
The program includes activities such as weekly phone calls, weekly Zoom meetings, crafting, exercise, cooking, and seminars.
The goal of this program is to help seniors connect to community through virtual social interactions via Zoom, providing capital through crafting, and volunteering and assisting with weekly phone calls. All are welcome.
The Windsor Essex Black Senior Association is partnering with NCCEEP to present our new weekly event, Senior's Social Hour!
This social event takes place online every Thursday starting at 6:00 p.m.

What is Seniors’ Centre Without Walls?
The SCWW is a telephone based, group social program where you, and up to 15 other seniors can join together to chat and learn about various topics and interests! Programs typically runs on Mondays at 1:30 PM by phone only. Thursday at 6:00 PM is Senior’s Social Hour on zoom. You can also call into Zoom. On Zoom call in, you can chat and listen, but you can't see what's on the screen.

How Does It Work?
The SCWW uses telephone conferencing to host all of its programs. Participants need to pre-register for the program sessions, and when scheduled, they will receive a phone call inviting them to join the conference call. Simply follow the voice prompt and press “1” to join. No need to fuss with any additional phone numbers or access codes!
