Online Youth Justice Workshop:
Youth Mental Health & Career Placement

Friday March 22nd @ 6PM

This workshop, geared for youth ages 12-18,  will include a career placement exam and provides an introduction to the basic skills needed to help youth deal with the stress surrounding school and preparing for ones future.  
Youth will be introduced to different ways to deal with and manage increased levels of stress and anxiety and is intended to strengthen their social and emotional skills and create mental health strategies to help youth strive.

4th Annual Omoluabi Black History Month Pt. 2

For Part 2, we have planned our annual tours of the Amherstburg Freedom Museum, the Amherstburg First Baptist Church, and a virtual tour of the John Freeman Walls Historic Site. We will have a Q and A session with Dr. Brian Walls after the virtual tour. Those on the physical tour will have lunch and watch the virtual tour at the Amherstburg First Baptist Church.

Youth Justice Workshop: Environmental Justice ​& Social Understanding w/ a special Kahoot Trivia

Today's young leaders care about preserving and protecting the environment and every day we learn just how important it is to live harmoniously with the world around us. 
The Youth Justice Workshop on Environmental Justice and Social Understanding will teach youth important life lessons and skills such as how to preserve and respect our natural habitat and how to make ethical life choices such as avoiding fast fashion trends and reducing waste.

A Sound Mind: Father's Day Celebration

Since many people are staying home to stay safe, NCCEEP is inviting you to celebrate Father’s Day with us June 20th at 3pm on Zoom. This one hour event will be jam packed with a guest speaker, poetry readings and a slideshow, all dedicated to the special Father’s in our lives. Submit a photo to ncceepwindsor@hotmail.com of you and your Dad by June 13th to be part of the Father’s Day slideshow. There will also be a youth poetry contest, see below for details.
Rules for the poetry contest
  • Open to youth ages 7-18
  • Must be haiku poem
  • Poems must be submitted by June 18th, 2021

Rules for writing haiku:
  • Haiku uses just a few words to capture a moment and create a picture in the reader's mind. It is like a tiny window into a scene much larger than itself.
  • There are no more than 17 syllables in total.
  • Haiku is composed of only 3 lines.
  • Typically, every first line of Haiku has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables, and the third has 5 syllables.
