Youth Leadership Workshops with the Windsor Express

The WFCU Centre | 8787 McHugh Street Windsor, ON​
NCCEEP has teamed up with the Windsor Express Basketball team to deliver two leadership workshops in March.  Each youth will benefit from in-class leadership training with Windsor Express Owner Dartis Willis Sr. and Oakland University Assistant Basketball Coach, Tony Jones. They will also receive a free t-shirt, meal and ticket to the Windsor Express Basketball game & be able to participate in the opening game high-five tunnel!

1st session is March 3rd, 2023 from 5-6:30pm
2nd session is March 17th, 2023 from 4-6pm

*With Windsor Express Basketball games to follow at the WFCU Centre at 8787 McHugh St, Windsor, On.

Mental Health Workshop: How to Deal With Depression and Uncertainty

In today's fast-paced and ever-changing world, it is not uncommon to feel uncertain about the future. Uncertainty can trigger anxiety and stress, and in some cases, lead to depression. This workshop will provide practical strategies to cope with uncertainty and manage depression.
Our expert speaker, Neika Pryce of Pryce Wellness will discuss the link between depression and uncertainty and effective coping mechanisms for managing depression during times of uncertainty.

This next Life Skills workshop will be on Financial Literacy with the Omoluabi value of Intelligence as the overall theme.

Online Youth Justice Workshop:
Youth Mental Health & Career Placement

Friday March 22nd @ 6PM

This workshop, geared for youth ages 12-18,  will include a career placement exam and provides an introduction to the basic skills needed to help youth deal with the stress surrounding school and preparing for ones future.  
Youth will be introduced to different ways to deal with and manage increased levels of stress and anxiety and is intended to strengthen their social and emotional skills and create mental health strategies to help youth strive.

The Youth Justice Workshop on Environmental Justice and Social Understanding will teach youth important life lessons and skills such as how to preserve and respect our natural habitat and how to make ethical life choices such as avoiding fast fashion trends and reducing waste.

A Sound Mind: Father's Day Celebration

Since many people are staying home to stay safe, NCCEEP is inviting you to celebrate Father’s Day with us June 20th at 3pm on Zoom. This one hour event will be jam packed with a guest speaker, poetry readings and a slideshow, all dedicated to the special Father’s in our lives.
